Student Pick Up-Parking: Spring is here and our PE classes are moving outside! With this shift, we need to ask parents to refrain from parking under the basketball hoops at the north end of the building as this space will be regularly used by classes. Please help us keep our kids and your vehicles safe! Alternate parking locations include the back parking lot, the side streets surrounding CY, or to plan your arrival for 3:45 instead of 3:40, when the majority of the pick up loop has emptied and is moving smoothly again. Thank you for your cooperation!

CYMS Spring Track: Yesterday our track team took on Kennedy and had an excellent first meet. Join us next week at Sheldon at 3:30, as we host Madison. As two of the largest programs in the district, it is sure to be quite a meet!

Check out meet information and get results at https://www.athletic.net/team/37422/track-and-field-outdoor/2024

Oregon State Testing: Please see our message sent out to parents on Thursday, April 11th for information regarding state testing with active links for our special schedule.

Testing Gum & Mints: Cal Young is seeking donations of mint gum as well as hard mints to supply to students during testing this year. Overall, we go through between 1,200 and 1,700 pieces during testing every year. Please consider making a donation of packs of mint gum or mints. Donations are accepted in the front office. Thank you for your generosity!

8th Grade Updates:

Forecasting: This Monday, 8th grade students will meet with Sheldon counselors to complete their forecasting course selections for the 2024-25 school year. Please be sure to go over the forecasting information with your student over the weekend if you haven’t already to ensure they are prepared.

Promotion: The date for 8th grade promotion as well as the end of the year celebration have switched! Due to a scheduling conflict, the 8th grade celebration field day, with a trip to Eugene Swim & Tennis Club has been moved to Thursday, June 13th. The promotion ceremony and celebration will now take place on the last day of school, Friday, June 14th.

Baby Picture: Parents, please submit a toddler photo of your 8th grade student. This will be used for the 8th grade promotion and their promotion breakfast slide show. To date, we only have pictures for a quarter of the 8th grade class. Submit your student’s photo HERE!

3rd Quarter Report Cards: 8th grade report cards mailed home include a Student Profile form that needs to be reviewed, updated, and returned for each student. This helps us prepare for the transition of our 8th grade students to high school. Please remember to check that we have your correct address and contact information on file, especially if you have moved in the past 12 months. For questions, please reach out to our registrar, Genessa Waite, at waite_g@4j.lane.edu or 541-790-6413.
