Other Helpful Information

Student Absences: When a student is going to be absent or late to school, we ask parents to please use our attendance line that is available 24/7. Messages left before 9:00 a.m. will be entered into the data system for that day’s attendance. Please provide your student’s name, reason for absence and the person who is calling. Attendance line: (541) 790-6454

District News: Check out the most recent district newsletter with ACE Awards Champions, School Bond Decisions, our Final School Schedule, and more.

Electronics: Please support our electronics expectations at Cal Young. While phones are allowable during breaks, passing time, and lunches, students are expected to enter classes with electronics put away and off. If inappropriately used or used at inappropriate times, electronics will be confiscated and turned in at the office for safe return to the student/parents after school.

Teacher/Admin. Canvas Pages/ Courses: It is helpful for families to be connected to teacher courses in Canvas, in order to assist students in maintaining organization and success.  In order to learn more about Canvas and how to monitor student success in courses, please follow this link and read through the registration information:

Coming Soon: The district will soon be providing text messaging for parents. Parents are being asked to make sure their contact information is current so they don’t miss out. When the system is activated, parents will then have a chance to opt out of the phone call message system and instead receive a text message about their student’s absence. Contact our registrar, Genessa, if you have any questions about your current contact numbers on file so you are ready when the system is launched. (541) 790-6400
