This is the page for everything 8th grade transition, promotion, and end of year. As the year progresses, this page will be updated with important dates, links, information, and references. Please check this page regularly throughout the school year.
Parent Help: We want each student to have the best experience possible and to do that we need your help! We are looking for chaperones, decorators, breakfast servers, and more! Please consider giving your time to help us have a memorable celebration for our 8th graders. Can’t give of your time but would like to contribute? Sign up to supply snacks, beverages, or games for the events.
Camp Harlow Field Trip
When: June 10th
Where: Camp Harlow
What: Celebrating the end of Middle School. We will join students from Monroe Middle School
Activities:
- Zipline
- Mini-golf
- Pickleball
- Go Karts
- Bumper Boats
- Swimming Pool (slide & diving boards open!)
Cost: $25 (Full Scholarships Are Available!)
Promotion Ceremony
When: June 11th @ 6:00 pm
- Ticketed Event: Each student is automatically receives 2 tickets for family. Look for more information in early May about ticket procedure and how to obtain more!
Where: CYMS Gym
What: Celebrating our 8th grade students as they cross the stage to symbolize moing on to high school. Family members, come celebrate with us!
After Party for Students
When: June 11th, 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Where: CYMS
What: Food, Dancing, Open Gym, Photo Booth—8th grade students only!
Baby Photos
Submit a toddler or baby photo of your student by May 15th for use in our promotion breakfast slide show! Link to submit above.
Volunteers Needed
Volunteer for Camp Harlow: We need chaperones to be at camp to ensure student safety and direct students to activities
Volunteer for Promotion Day: Help with setting up and serving breakfast in the morning, decorating in the afternoon, or supervising the party in the evening!
