8th Grade Info

Welcome to the Page for Everything 8th Grade Transition

Hello Cal Young 8th Grade Families,

We are now a month away from our 8th grade promotion festivities. This email contains important information about the schedule of events, ticket procedures, celebration trip, promotion party, and how you can get involved. Please read the entire message carefully for details on each topic.

Promotion Tickets: To ensure we stay in fire code compliance, all family members, spectators, and guests need a ticket for entry to the promotion ceremony. Each student is automatically allotted two tickets for promotion. Please note 8th grade students do NOT need a ticket for the ceremony.

  • Beginning Monday, May 13th, Parent(s)/Guardian(s) may submit requests for additional tickets by filling following the link below by Friday May 31st
  • Extra tickets are allocated to students two at a time until we run out
  • On Tuesday June 4th, parents will receive an email receipt indicating the number of tickets they receive, including the number of additional tickets allotted to them
  • Students receive their physical tickets in an envelope on Friday, June 14th during their promotion ceremony rehearsal

**Please note: tickets are allotted per STUDENT not per household. For best processing, we ask that, as possible, requests for extra tickets be limited to one form per student, encompassing the total request. For questions, please contact Alexis Krivchuk at

    • All promoting students are encouraged to dress nicely in either semi-formal attire or embrace the theme and wear neat tropical attire
      • Attire should be clean, neat, and tidy
      • Students who choose to wear heels or platform shoes as their footwear are encouraged to practice walking stairs in their promotion shoes, as the stage is elevated

    • If your student goes by something other than their legal name, please be aware they will be listed and announced by their legal name unless you request otherwise.
      • This can be as simple a change as Christopher Mitchell vs Chris Mitchell or more complicated such as  Destiny Cyrus vs Miley Cyrus.
      • Please email by Friday, May 31st to ensure printed materials reflect your student’s preferred name correctly
