Open House & Activity Fair

This Tuesday, September 22, join Cal Young staff for our annual Activity Fair followed by our Open House.

Activity Fair, 5:15 pm-6:15pm

Check out this year's Activity Fair with tables featuring Cal Young clubs, affinity groups, athletics, and community partners. Toms Coffee Cart will also be on site and available for purchase.

Open House, 6:15 pm - 8:00 pm

Meet the teachers! This is your opportunity to experience a miniature version of a day in the life of your middle school student. Parents follow their student's schedule on a shortened format & meet each teacher for a brief introduction and presentation. Come learn about curriculum and what to expect from your student's middle school experience this year at Cal Young.

There will be a Spanish interpreter on site for this event. Please contact the front office or comment on this post to let us know if you need an interpreter for this event.

Student Assistance

Each year, with help from community partners and the incredible generosity of Cal Young families, we are able to offer multiple student assistance programs to Cal Young students and families facing financial hardship. Support like yours and those of our partners enable us to assist students throughout the year.

If you would like to know how you can help or if your family is in need of assistance, please see the list of current programs offered at Cal Young for those facing financial hardship.

Messages from the Cal Young Parent Teacher Organization

No Cook Night

Take the night off from cooking and join the PTO for a "No Cook Night" at Jersey Mike's this Thursday!

Each month the PTO will host a "No Cook Night" where a portion of the proceeds from your dinner purchase goes to support the Cal Young PTO.

Eat at Jersey Mike's Thursday 9/24 between 4 and 9 pm and Cal Young PTO will receive 30% of your purchase! No flyer needed!

CYMS Food Pantry

Could you add a can of tuna or a box of cereal to your grocery list this week? If so, we would greatly appreciate it!

Did you know that Cal Young sends home 10 bags of food with students in need each week? We need help keeping our food pantry stocked. Accepted items:

Pancake mix (just add water)
Cereal
Oatmeal packets
Granola Bars
Canned fruit or applesauce
Canned veggies
Canned beans
Canned tuna or chicken
Mac n Cheese (just add water)
Canned ravioli or spaghetti-os
Canned hearty soups
Peanut butter
Jelly
Crackers (ritz, graham, etc)
Mayonnaise
Cheese sticks

To get the year started, we will be collecting donations during Open House. Or you can drop off your donation anytime to the main office. Thanks in advance!
