Lane County Public Health Visit

On Friday, 3/20 during both Lunch A and Lunch B, we will have a booth in the cafeteria hosted by Lane County Public Health/Prevention. They will be sharing ‘Take a Break’ tool kits, which are designed to help people find small ways to build mental health supports and moments of pause into their day. This project is funded through a grant focused on problem gambling prevention, so the tool kits also include information related to gambling and video gaming addiction. The overall goal is to raise awareness about how strengthening our mental health and resilience can help protect us from addiction.

Locker Clean Out and Lost & Found

Friday is locker clean out! Students are encouraged to help keep the school fresh and clean over break by cleaning out their lockers on Friday, during advisory class.

In addition, students should check the lost and found all week for their long lost items. Items remaining after Friday will be donated, recycled, or thrown away.

Yearbook

Monday, March 16th, we will post the list of students who have reserved a yearbook in the front office windows. Students interested in receiving this year's yearbook are encouraged to check the list.

Yearbook order deadline is April 16th.

Balance Notices

If you are getting a notice in the mail about there being a balance on your students account, this isn't a negative balance. This is money on your student's account you can claim!

Just reach out to Nutrition Services at 541-790-7656 or at nutrition@4j.lane.edu to claim that balance!

Fun Facts

Vitamin C is a natural antihistamine, which helps with allergy reactions. It helps you absorb iron. It is highest in raw fruits and vegetables, including citrus fruits, red and green peppers, strawberries, tomatoes, and broccoli. It protects cells from damage caused by free radicals, which are produced when the body breaks down food or is exposed to tobacco smoke, sunlight, and other environmental factors.

We offer almost all of these high vitamin C items weekly.

Incoming 9th Grade Parent Nights -- Don't Miss Out!

All 4J high schools are excited to welcome incoming 9th graders and their families to their Parent Nights! These events are a wonderful opportunity to:
  • Learn about your high school – get an overview of what to expect and how to navigate the transition from middle school.
  • Explore courses and electives – discover the range of academic and extracurricular options available.
  • Meet staff and tour the campus – connect with teachers, counselors, and administrators, and see the school firsthand.

Attending a parent night is a great way to feel confident and prepared as your student steps into high school. We encourage all families to join and take advantage of this opportunity to get to know the school community.
