As we get deeper into winter, the weather is particularly tricky, especially in the morning. Fog is setting in around the valley and visibility is low. We have many students who walk to and from school or meet their rides a little further away from school. To help with this, we have two cross walks in regular use, separate from the traffic light at Gilham and Crescent. We ask that drivers slow down and pay special attention near these spaces as students can be difficult to see in the fog.
Crosswalk 1 goes from the skate park to the corner of Gilham and Holly. Crosswalk 2 goes from the bus loop to the corner of Gilham and Terresa.
Thank you for helping us keep Cal Young Students safe!

School choice season for the 2026–27 school year is fast approaching
In Eugene School District 4J, every school offers students excellent educational opportunities. Students may enroll in their neighborhood school at any time or request to enroll in a different 4J school for the upcoming 2026-27 school year starting in mid-January. School choice requests are accepted in an order determined by lottery. To be included in the annual school choice lottery, 4J residents must submit a request between Thursday, Jan. 15—Sunday, Feb. 15. Families are invited to explore their school choice options, including their neighborhood school, during the school choice period.
Residents living outside of our district’s boundaries who want their child to attend a 4J school next year apply later, March 1–31.

What is Arts for All?
Arts for All is a program that supports community members currently using an EBT or Oregon Trail Card. A patron can show their Oregon Trail Card/EBT and can purchase two (2) $5 tickets to many of the Hult Center’s best music, theatre and dance groups. Participation varies by event and will be clearly labeled on our website.
How does it work?
Arts For All offers $5 tickets to select Hult Presents shows. Participating shows will have information on the website. Patrons must purchase tickets in person to present their Oregon Trail Card and can then set up an account so it is noted they have purchased their allotted 2 tickets. Tickets will be on a first come, first served basis. Please note, Arts For All cannot be applied to past purchases.
