AVID Movie Night & Fundraiser

Our AVID students are thrilled to invite all Cal Young families to join them for a special community screening of the hit film Coraline! Our students have been working hard to host this event, and they can’t wait to see the library filled with families for a fun-filled Friday night.
Grab your pillows and come enjoy the show!

Event Details:
  • When: Friday, January 16th
  • Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Where: Cal Young Middle School Library
  • Cost: $3.00 per person or just $10.00 for the whole family!

Ticket & Snack Info

You can support our AVID program by purchasing tickets in advance via card using the link below. If you are buying at the event, please note that we can only accept cash or check at the door.

Make sure to stop by the concession stand for some movie treats! Snacks will be available for purchase (cash/check only) throughout the film.

All funds raised from this student-led event go directly to our Cal Young AVID program. Your support helps our students focus on College and Career Readiness, funding the tools and experiences they need to pave their way to a bright future.
Our AVID students are so excited to host you—we’ll see you at the movies! Go Cougars!

Messages from the Cal Young Parent Teacher Organization

The Cal Young PTO is official! We meet the first Thursday of every month at 6pm. Join us on February 5th in the library to see what we are up to and how you can get involved!

We are searching for a parent to serve as secretary on the PTO Board. This is a great way to get involved and help the school! All tasks can be completed outside of school hours. If you are interested in learning more, please email calyoungpto@gmail.com or attend the meeting on Thursday!

Thank you to everyone who supported our first fundraiser at Papas Pizza in December! We brought in $205!

To stay up to date with all our activity, please join our email list by filling out this brief form. You can also join our facebook group by clicking here.

Eugene International High School (Eugene IHS)

Eugene International High School (Eugene IHS) is a choice school for students in grades 9-12 offering a 4-year interdisciplinary humanities curriculum focused on international studies. Students are dual enrolled in both Eugene IHS and their host school.

ANY student can enroll. They must go through the online 4J School Choice Lottery, regardless of attendance area: 4j.lane.edu/schoolchoic. The in-district deadline to apply is February 15, 2026.

IMPORTANT DATES for the 2026-2027 School Year:
January 15……Online application period for 4J School Choice Lottery opens for in-district students

Spanish and French Immersion students from Monroe and Roosevelt will be enrolled in Eugene IHS without the lottery process because they entered immersion through the lottery in elementary or middle school. However, immersion students do need to submit the Eugene IHS Enrollment Form to the Eugene IHS office at South or Sheldon by the January 31, 2026.  This form will be included in a special mailing to immersion families over winter break.

We hope you will consider becoming a part of our Eugene IHS community!

School Choice

In Eugene School District 4J, every school offers students excellent educational opportunities. Students may enroll in their neighborhood school at any time or request to enroll in a different 4J school for the upcoming 2026-27 school year starting in mid-January. School choice requests are accepted in an order determined by lottery. To be included in the annual school choice lottery, 4J residents must submit a request between Thursday, Jan. 15—Sunday, Feb. 15. Families are invited to explore their school choice options, including their neighborhood school, during the school choice period.

Residents living outside of our district’s boundaries who want their child to attend a 4J school next year apply later, March 1–31.
