Cougar Holiday Cheer Drive
We've extended the Cougar Holiday Cheer Drive donation deadline to Monday!

Cal Young is collecting donations of gift cards to provide assistance to CYMS families who could benefit from a little help this season. We welcome any and all gift cards that could brighten the holidays for our students.

Gift cards can be turned in to Ms. Alexis at the front office.

Thank you for helping make the season bright for all Cal Young Cougars. If you would like a receipt for your tax-deductible donation, please email Alexis at krivchuk_a@4j.lane.edu or include a note with your donation.

Can't make it to the store or in to Cal Young to bring a gift card but would like to contribute? Donate via SchoolPay. *All Holiday Cheer Drive donations go toward gift cards specifically to grocery stores.

O.B.O.B. Volunteers Needed
The Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) is a statewide voluntary reading motivation and comprehension program sponsored by the Oregon Association of School Libraries in conjunction with a Library Services and Technology Act grant. Students in 3rd-12th grade, regardless of ability, are exposed to quality literature representing a variety of literary styles and viewpoints.

OBOB’s mission is to encourage and recognize students who enjoy reading, to broaden reading interests, to increase reading comprehension, promote academic excellence, and to promote cooperative learning and teamwork among students.

Thank you for considering volunteering for OBOB. As the new Library Specialist I looking forward to making new connects with our Cal Young community.

If you have questions my email address is: hopkins_j@4j.lane.edu

Locker overflowing with supplies and garbage
Locker Clean out
Friday, students will visit their lockers and conduct a locker clean out. This is in an effort to reduce food left in lockers over Winter Break so we can return to clean school. This helps us to eliminate funky smells and unwanted visits from pests and critters.

Students are also encouraged to take home any clothing or other items that may have stacked up in their lockers over the previous weeks.
