Picture retake day is coming up on October 24th. Students who missed the initial picture day and those wanting a retake will be invited down to the library to get their photo taken throughout the school day. Families interested in ordering are encouraged to order pictures through the LifeTouch online portal. If you would rather purchase using cash or check, picture packets are available in the front office.

Fall Spirit Week is coming! Students are invited to show their school spirit in the final week of October, 10/28-11/1.

Monday 10/28- Pajama Day

Tuesday 10/29- Adam Sandler Day

Wednesday 10/30- Pink Out Day

Thursday 10/31- Costume Day

Friday 11/1- Favorite Team Day

*Please remember that all costuming should be respectful. Student faces must be visible at all times, so no masks or face coverings are permitted. Additionally, costumes should not interfere with the learning environment. For example, it can be difficult to fit in a seat with a tail or a large set of wings and impossible to see the board over someone else's inflatable.

Students and families, LTD free student bus passes should work throughout students' time at 4J If you try to use your pass and it doesn't work, please go to the front office right away with your pass to get it renewed. If you lose your pass or it is stolen, the front office at your school can replace it for you.

Wordcrafters in Eugene, a local literary non-profit serving all of Lane County is excited to present Fantastic Fiction-a short story contest for youth open to all Lane County students in grades K-12. Fiction Fantastic is made possible through grants and donations, and powered by a wonderful team of volunteer judges.

There is no cost for students to enter, and the top-placing stories in each category are published in an annual anthology. The anthology is professionally edited and published, and available for sale after the contest, making student winners published authors.
