Welcome Assistant Principal Brian Young

Dear Cal Young Families,

I hope this message finds you well and enjoying your summer break. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, I am pleased to introduce Assistant Principal Brian Young, who will be joining our team in the fall. As you may recall, former AP Matt Myers is headed back to Kennedy Middle School (where he was a math teacher) to teach physical education.

Mr. Young brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of dedication to student success and family engagement. For the past 14 years, he has served as principal of Oaklea Middle School and Junction City High School in our neighboring Junction City School District, where he has been committed to creating supportive, inclusive environments where every student can thrive. His hands-on approach and strong belief in equity and growth for all students align well with our school’s vision.

Mr. Young emphasizes building genuine, caring relationships with students, staff, and families. He's known for his transparent communication style and "kids first" mentality, which has made him a beloved figure in the schools he's served. His commitment to creating a positive school culture will undoubtedly benefit our Cal Young community.
