PTO & Site Council Information


  • The Parent Teacher Organization meets either monthly or bimonthly and generally serves functions to help educate our families, celebrate student success, or fundraise.  A list of tasks performed by the PTO are…
    • Student Culture / Climate related fundraising for student prize items
    • Volunteering for creating teacher prize boxes
    • Possible CY WE Walk support and organization on Oct. 13th
    • Possible volunteer support for other school climate activities, like activity nights
    • Parent education night
  • Meetings are scheduled at 5pm on Sept. 13, Oct. 11, Nov. 8, Jan. 10, March 14


Cal Young Middle School’s Site Council is made up of representatives from all areas of the school’s operation: staff, students, and parents. The Site Council is responsible for:

• the development of plans to improve the professional growth of the school’s staff
• the improvement of the school’s instructional program –
• the development and coordination of plans for the implementation of programs in the school
• the administration of grants-in-aid for the professional development of teachers and classified employees.

Our monthly meetings (some months there are no meetings) will be the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 4- 5 p.m. in the conference room or a classroom and can be found on our community calendar. In order to have a quorum, we need parents to be involved and at this time are looking for two parent representatives from ea. grade level.
